Cirque Du Chennai presents Around The World at The Arthur Cotterell Theatre, Kingston College, on Saturday 21st November 2026 at 7 pm, raising funds for Cocoon Care After Care.

This charity circus show brings together local performers for an evening of aerial arts, acrobatics, dance and contemporary circus.

Cirque Du Chennai will be featuring a diverse cast of performers including aerial artists, acrobats and dancers. The production will take audiences on a journey across the globe, with acts inspired by different countries and cultures through circus, movement and music.

How It Began

Founded in 2014, Cirque Du Chennai began as a fundraising idea created by local aerialist Tamsin Woodsmith. After developing a passion for trapeze and noticing there were limited opportunities for performers to showcase the skills they had spent years training in, Tamsin decided to create a circus show that would combine performance opportunities with fundraising. The first Cirque Du Chennai was born as a way to bring performers together while supporting the charity, Chennai Challenge.

Since that first production, Cirque Du Chennai has grown into an annual community event, providing opportunities for performers of all ages and experience levels to perform in a professional theatre environment. The project brings together amateur and professional performers, with new acts and new performers joining each year.

Over the years, Cirque Du Chennai has raised more than £10,000 for charitable causes, supporting a range of organisations including Chennai Challenge, Cancer Research, The National Autistic Society, Rethink Mental Illness, White Lodge Centre and The Katie Hardwick Fund. The show has become a celebration not only of circus, but also of community, creativity and making a difference.

Around The World in 2026

The 2026 production, Around The World, continues this tradition with an evening of live entertainment. Audiences can expect breathtaking aerial performances, acrobatics, dance and contemporary circus, showcasing both emerging performers taking to the stage for the first time and experienced artists sharing their skills.

This year's chosen charity partner is Cocoon Care After Care, a local charity supporting care-experienced young adults across Kingston, Richmond and Hounslow. The charity helps young people as they transition from care into adulthood, offering practical, emotional and financial support to help them build independent and fulfilling lives.

Through every ticket sold, audiences will not only enjoy an evening of circus, but will also contribute towards supporting young people in the local community.

Accessible Tickets

Cirque Du Chennai is committed to making circus accessible and welcoming to everyone. The show offers a range of ticket options, including concessions for children, older people, disabled guests, low-income households, students, Equity members and Blue Light card holders. A family ticket is also available for any group of four people, with any age or family make-up welcome.

Founder and Director Tamsin Woodsmith said:

Cirque Du Chennai has always been about bringing people together through circus while supporting charities that make a real difference. What started as one fundraising show has grown into something much bigger, creating opportunities for performers and helping raise money for important causes along the way.
